Dinosaur Trail "Triassic Park"

The ancestors of the dinosaurs at Gampen Pass. In 1997 discovery of numerous impressions of prehistoric reptiles (rhyncosaurs and thecodonts, including up to 4 m long "primeval lions" with dangerous claws) near the Gampen Pass; this was 235 million years ago – long before the formation of the Alps – location of a large island surrounded by lagoons.


LOCATION: with public transportation from Merano, Lana, Bolzano and Trento or by car via St. Felix to Unsere liebe Frau im Walde, then approx. 2 km on foot.
