Eschenlohe Castle
Castle ruins on the way to St. Pankraz on a wooded crest where the Hagenbach flows into the Falschauer river. "One of the most beautiful sights in the South Tyrol mountains!" (Beda Weber, regional writer)Mentioned in historical records in 1164 as Ulten Castle; since 1492 and until recently still owned by Baron von Trapp.
The remains of the circular wall, the corner of a fortified annex as well as the dungeon are still preserved. Tours are not possible but this presents an excellent photo opportunity.
LOCATION: 8 km from Lana, before you get to St. Pankraz
