Do you know what Milchgöbis and Pfannenknecht are? In St. Nikolaus (1,256 m), one of the most beautiful villages in the Ultental Valley, you'll find out! Because this is where the fascinating Ulten Talmuseum (valley museum), in which the farming heritage and folk artworks of the past are preserved: farm implements, furniture ("french" double bed!), clothing items, hand tools and statues. You'll also learn about the local fauna including golden eagles, bears and the mountain cock.


But St. Nikolaus has another greeting from times gone by to offer: Above the church mentioned in the records for the first time in 1338, whose neo Gothic polyptych altarpiece is decorated with marvellous figures, on a hill you'll find the mysterious stone images on the wall of the "Thurnerhof".
