Pilgrimage church "Unsere liebe Frau im Walde"

Or "Our dear Lady of the Forest." Well-known Tyrolean place of pilgrimage. First mention as a monastery with a small hospice for travelers in 1194 above the Gampen Pass; in 1224 it became an Augustinian monastery, church dedications in 1210 and 1432; tower with low quadrangular spire from the Romanesque period; the church was converted to the Gothic style in the 15th century; carved Baroque altars and picture of "Maria with child"; today it is owned by the Muri Benedictine Abbey in Gries near Bolzano
