Laurein – pristine nature and rural living environment

Lauregno/Laurein (1,148 m) is the southernmost place in Val d'Ultimo/Ultental and Alta Val di Non/Deutschnonsberg, well-known for its peaceful location, carefree atmosphere and traditional farms. Here, in earlier times, copper was mined and smelted. The resort was founded by miners in fact, and offers superb vistas of the surrounding area, most notably the Maddalene and Brenta mountain ranges, Presanella glacier and the world-famous Rosengarten resort.

Things to see in Lauregno/Laurein are the century-old farms and the Late-Gothic parish church, which dates back to 1500 AD.

The resort is also extremely popular with mountain bikers and professional cyclists. Popular tours are those to the “Brezjoch“ and “Clozjoch“, as well as the famous Transalp cycling route which traverses the area.

Laurein and Proveis were for many years only accessible via the Trentino, and thus a new beautiful mountain road leads through the Va D’Ultimo to this remote area.
