Laugenrind - the best beef from Val d'Ultimo/Ultental
“LaugenRinder” or “Laugen beef” are specially raised South Tyrolean dairy calves and cattle primarily of the “Gray beast” breed. The meat of these cattle must meet extremely strict quality criteria.
The project received its name from the Laugen Mountain (2.434 m), a well-known landmark in the region. True “Laugen beef” must be born at the foot of the Laugen Mountain, in Alta Val di Non, in Val D’Ultimo or in the Venosta Valley and they must graze throughout the summer in the mountain pastures.
The Laugenrind brand stands for a local project, which has set itself the goal to commercialize the high-quality beef produced on mountain farms in the Val d'Ultimo/Ultental/Alta Val di Non/Deutschnonsberg and Val Venosta/Vinschgau areas.
Sustainable alpine agriculture, animal welfare and fair prices are the main qualities of this excellent product.
More and more retail shops and gourmet restaurants sell Laugenrind products.
